Timeless, eclectic, and bright… journey to where ancient and contemporary meet as Opera Grand Rapids takes you to modern-day Tokyo, Japan at the incredible 20 Monroe Live!

Join us for an exciting evening of fun, food and entertainment! Bask in the neon glow as you enjoy a strolling dinner featuring bites from a variety of fabulous Grand Rapids restaurants and cocktails from the open bar, with 2BaysDJs providing the soundtrack. Then, be wowed by the talents of the Detroit Youth Choir, fresh off their second place win on America’s Got Talent! Event chair Kyle Van Andel will award the Betty Van Andel Scholarship to a promising opera student. And new this year, the winner of the expanded Collegiate Vocal Competition will also perform. Finally, dance into the night as 2BaysDJs return to spin unique electronic and opera mash-ups. 

The best part? Proceeds will support Music Education in West Michigan through the mission of Opera Grand Rapids!

The Detroit Youth Choir has performed at various events around the City of Detroit, nationally, and internationally. They recently gained national fame as second place winners of Season 14 of America’s Got Talent.

In addition, other major accomplishments include: participating in the documentary IMAX film, America’s Musical Journey, which was shown in all IMAX Theatres across the US; recording with the UK group The Go! Team; and performing for local organizations such as: Spectrum Children Services, Detroit Pistons, U of M Basketball Club Ann Arbor, Scholars for Dollars, Focus Hope, Arise Detroit,  A.I.M. Youth Conference, The D-drop New Year’s Eve Celebration, IMPACT TV,  Light up Detroit organization, Youth Development Commission of Detroit and The Detroit Public Library.
