Friday, May 10, 2019
Opera Grand Rapids is delighted to invite you to join us in celebrating springtime in Paris. While strolling around “Paris” at the Van Andel Institute, enjoy drinks and sample special selections from several local restaurants. Then, enjoy a spell-binding performance of opera arias, art songs, and popular hits by Cuban- born soprano, Elizabeth Caballero, the lead of Opera Grand Rapids’ Spring production, La Traviata. Along with delicious food and libations, Opera Grand Rapids is thrilled to welcome back crooner, Landau Eugene Murphy, to once again bookend the evening with his wide-ranging vocal abilities.

Attire: Parisian Inspired Cocktail
Music by Giuseppe Verdi
Friday, June 14 & Saturday, June 15, 2019
The heartbreaking true story of Parisian courtesan Marie Duplessis became the classic novella that inspired the films Camille, Pretty Woman and Moulin Rouge. The great Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi retells her story in one of the greatest operas of all time, La Traviata. Opera Grand Rapids’ production in the elegant setting of St. Cecilia Music Center stars Metropolitan Opera star soprano Elizabeth Caballero. Elizabeth is joined by “one of the most exciting new vocal talents to emerge on the international stage,” Tenor Zach Borichevsky as Alfredo, and Opera Grand Rapids favorite Mark Rucker as his father, Germont.
